Well, the time has come. Today, we met the kids’ teachers and Roo got his first glimpse of what real school was going to be like.
He is a little worried. He likes his teacher, though. She’s very sweet, and got down on his level to talk to him. The classroom is filled with bright colors and toys. Also, he’s already able to do many of the things, likethe alphabet and numbers and adding and writing his name that they will be learning for the first few months, so at least he doesn’t have to worry about everything overwhelming him. He also gets to bring a stuffed animal for nap time. I had forgotten how sweet Kindergarten was. They really think of everything.
Bunny is very thankful that she doesn’t have “the yelling teacher”. Instead, she has a new addition to the faculty from Washington state. She was a bit dismayed that it wasn’t as heavily colorful as Ryan’s, but 3rd grade wouldn’t be. She really likes her teacher as well, although none of her friends are in her class. There are only 11 people in her class, though. That should be super nice.
I think it will be a great year.
