It’s not here, that’s for sure. No snow. They keep getting excited about snow, but it always seems to end just above the state line. It is, sadly, a very wet beginning to the new year.
Some people think it’s due to global warming. Since we’ve only been recording temperatures here for 110 years, I think it’s a little too early to call it, but I understand the concern. I remember when I was younger, it would snow 8 inches or so for ONE day in a year, but it would snow, and ice up, and we’d all run to the store to buy eggs, milk, bread and stock up on firewood. These days, it’s been 13 years since it has snowed enough to comment on. We had snowballs, snowmen.. *sigh*. My kids draw pictures of snowmen and cut snowflakes from paper, but they’ve never seen it. There’s a ski resort near here where they make their own snow. I think we’ll have to check that out.
