I’ve had a long day today.

This morning started with a tickle fight in the bed with my son, and a dash to get dressed as I realized he’d let me sleep until 10! Ok, now some of you are saying “he let you.. right”, but I can only hear out of one ear, and I never hear the alarm. It doesn’t matter how loud it is. I don’t normally depend on my son to wake me, it just happens. Normally at 6am.

So it was off to the races. We dressed and had breakfast, then ran around doing errands, then ate lunch at his favorite restaurant. Afterwards, we ended up at a toy store to buy one of his friends a birthday present. That took a while, especially since they had a lot of sample toys out to play with.

We were returning to the house when I got a call from my daughter’s school saying that she had pink eye and needed to go home. Ug. So off we went to pick her up. She was confused, and a little annoyed at going home. This week, she gets to be second in line for everything because she holds the position of “DOOR HOLDER”. oooh. So she’s upset about having to stay home and not get that honor. Poor thing.

So on the way back home, we drove by our new house, where they are putting up a nice fence for us. Lucky for us that I went by, because they had not planned for 2 gates, but just one. I don’t really care how many gates we have, but it is in the contract, and so I called our realtor, who got all flustered about it. But things are ok now. Back to going smoothly.

Then, we went home and managed to get about 20 minutes, when my mom called needing us to come in to town for something. So off we went again, meeting my mom at a store where the kids had allowance money burning holes in their pockets.

I have worn so many hats today, I don’t remember my name. I’ve been gofer, chauffeur, nurse, mom, buyer, wrapper, cargo hauler, comforter.. etc.

It’s not going to get any easier for a while, either. I guess that’s why people don’t move a lot once they have kids.
